Finally, the much awaited moment every school year... It's end. Ironic isn't it? But that's just the way it is; we spend all our time in school waiting for the summer vacation, getting tired of studying, and when summer finally comes, we get bored of being a couch potato and living a pig's life, and we become desperately excited for the next school year. Weird.
That's how it is, we don't appreciate life as we know it, we neglect the things we have, until it's gone, we center our lives on things to come, instead of what we are grasping at the moment. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that thinking about the future is bad, but what am I pointing out is that:
what we have now and what we are doing at the present, contributes a lot on what we'll have and what we'll achieve in the future. Think about it, would you have a fun summer vacation when you wasted your schoolyear on fooling around then you ended up attending remedial classes? Would you ever have a fun filled summer if you wasted your year fighting with your friends and pissing off others, then when summer comes, you have no one to miss, and no one will miss you at all... haha. One important thing that I learned during the last day of the year is that at one point,
you have to risk something for your happiness, when everything is said and done, when you have accomplished what you needed to accomplish, when you have said everything that are needed to say, isn't it the right time to reward yourself? As what Angelica Baria told me "Go Nikki, say yes. Rewardan mo naman sarili mo sa mga naaccomplish mo." ... and guess what? I ended up being perfectly happy.
Another is that,
there are no grey areas when it comes to choices, it's either a yes or a no. You have to make a choice, you couldn't play safe, if you want to let your presence felt, you have to stand firm on what you want and on what you believe in, remember:
only dead fish go with the flow. And finally, the most important value I learned is that, when you have nothing else to hold on to, you will always have the Lord, as often quoted
"Ang huling kapit ay sa Diyos."Who wouldn't miss the S.Y. 07-08? Probably a very small minority, because with all the pains and tragic moments that it has brought, all came with happiness and memorable happenings. Enjoy the vacation everyone, and be armed to face the next school year.
